Statistics and Actuarial Sciences
The Laboratory for Statistics and Actuarial Science focuses on the development, investigation and application of statistical methods for modelling and quantifying risks and uncertainties. Its research priorities lie in mathematical statistics, particularly in extreme value and record statistics, as well as in statistical and machine learning. The fields of application range from insurance and finance to technical and interdisciplinary issues.
The laboratory combines theoretical and applied research with knowledge transfer. Students have the opportunity to contribute to current research topics through project work and dissertations.
