OTH Regensburg and ZITiS formalise their partnership

OTH Regensburg and the Central Office for Information Technology in the Security Sector (ZITiS) will be officially collaborating in future.

On 25 August 2026, Prof. Dr Ralph Schneider, President of OTH Regensburg, and ZITiS President Wilfried Karl signed an agreement in Regensburg on scientific and technical cooperation between the two institutions.

The cooperation builds on a partnership that has grown steadily since 2020. In future, both partners intend to pool their activities in research, knowledge transfer and academic training. Plans include joint research projects on IT security and the joint supervision of ZITiS PhD students at OTH Regensburg. Other key areas of focus will be automotive security, the Internet of Things (IoT), forensics and drone security.

Following the signing ceremony, participants at the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics discussed the next steps to be taken together. During a tour of the Laboratory for Applied Security, the ZITiS delegation gained an insight into test environments for security analyses and the research projects currently underway.
