The Mathematics Pre-Course

This course aims to balance the differences in prior knowledge among the various new students. For instance, if you attended an advanced mathematics course in secondary school and performed well, you might not need this pre-course.

The course is conducted in groups led by tutors (students from higher semesters). Group allocation is based on a combination of existing knowledge and the chosen degree programme. The course includes theoretical parts and corresponding exercises. You will receive the worksheets in your groups, but they will also be published on the Moodle learning platform.

The following topics will be covered: basic arithmetic operations, powers and roots, logarithms, linear equations, non-linear equations, inequalities (only for prospective mathematics students), elementary functions (e.g., polynomials, trigonometric functions), and elementary geometry.

Materials for the Mathematics Pre-Course:

The materials will be provided on the learning platform during the course
