Die jährlich stattfindende Australasian Conference on Information Systems (ACIS) bringt Forscher aus Australien und Asien und - in zunehmendem Maße - aus der ganzen Welt zusammen, um die neuesten Forschungsergebnisse auf dem Gebiet der Wirtschaftsinformatik vorzustellen und zu diskutieren. Die diesjährige Konferenz stand unter dem Motto “The changing face of IS” und fand in Melbourne, Australien, statt.
Sebastian Käss, Doktorand der Wirtschaftsinformatik, konnte dort erfolgreich einen Beitrag platzieren: Er referierte in der Kategorie “Agile, IS Development, and Project Management” mit dem Vortragstitel “Low Code Development Platform Adoption: A Research Model”. In seinem “Research-in-Progress” Paper hat er herausgearbeitet, welche Faktoren die Adoption von Low Code Development Plattformen beeinflussen. Das entwickelte Forschungsmodell basiert auf Ergebnissen der Adoption von Cloud Computing und agilen Softwareentwicklungsmethoden.

Der Beitrag konnte den zweiten Platz für das Beste “Research-in-Progress” Paper erzielen. Aus den sich ergebenden Fachgesprächen resultierten interessante Diskussionen und Anknüpfungspunkte für den zukünftigen Forschungsverlauf. Die Annahme des Beitrags unterstreicht die Forschungsstärke der Wirtschaftsinformatik an der OTH Regensburg.
Die von Prof. Dr. Markus Westner aus der Fakultät Informatik und Mathematik betreute Promotion wird in Kooperation mit dem Lehrstuhl für Wirtschaftsinformatik, insb. Informationssysteme in Industrie und Handel von Prof. Dr. Susanne Strahringer an der Technischen Universität Dresden durchgeführt.
Research presentation at ACIS 2022 in Melbourne
The annual Australasian Conference on Information Systems (ACIS) brings together researchers from Australia and Asia and - increasingly - from around the world to present and discuss the latest research in the field of information systems. This year's conference is themed "The changing face of IS" and was held in Melbourne, Australia. Sebastian Käss, a Ph.D. student of Information Systems successfully submitted a paper titled "Low Code Development Platform Adoption: A Research Model" to the conference: He presented his research in the track "Agile, IS Development, and Project Management".
The "Research-in-Progress" paper investigates factors influencing the adoption of low code development platforms. The research model developed is based on the results of the adoption of similar technologies such as cloud computing and agile software development approaches.
His paper was awarded runner-up in the "Best Research-in-Progress Paper" category. The presentation led to interesting discussions and points of contact for future research. The acceptance of the paper underlines the research strength of business informatics at the OTH Regensburg.
The doctoral thesis, supervised by Prof. Dr. Markus Westner from the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics, is being conducted in cooperation with the Chair of Business Information Systems, esp. IS in Industry and Commerce of Prof. Dr. Susanne Strahringer at the TU Dresden.
