External theses are supervised by a company and the topic is proposed. However, Prof. Palm is then responsible for issuing the topic and supervising it at the university. The range of topics should be in the field of (industrial or medical) image processing and/or machine learning/artificial intelligence (within or outside medicine).
Topics for internal work are proposed within the framework of research projects or research interests of the ReMIC. Students' own topic suggestions can only be considered in exceptional cases. The topics are often only fixed a few weeks before the start of the semester, so that initially only a rough indication of a topic can be discussed. However, the basic aim of medical image processing, in particular but not exclusively with machine learning methods, is of course obvious. Previously supervised work can be found here.
The processing of internal topics usually requires a training period in the laboratory, which ideally begins before the start of the semester. Registration usually takes place in the first 10 days of the semester.
Would you like to work on an internal or external thesis at ReMIC?
Then register using the form below. All interested parties will be collected first. Approximately 2.5 months before the start of the semester (1st Monday after January 6 for the summer semester, 1st Monday after July 15 for the winter semester), you will receive feedback as to whether or not you can be supervised at ReMIC. Expressions of interest received later can only be considered if there is still capacity available.
