

Was ist ReMIC?
Mit dem Motto Image Computing for Life liegt der Fokus des ReMIC auf der methodischen Weiterentwicklung der medizinischen Bildverarbeitung sowie deren Anpassung an praktische Fragestellungen aus Klinik und Industrie. Einen Schwerpunkt bilden dabei tiefe Neuronale Netze (Deep Learning). In diesem Zusammenhang werden im ReMIC methodisch neue Verfahren zur Bildanalyse und -klassifikation entwickelt sowie etablierte Verfahren für klinische Fragestellungen angepasst, z.B. für die Radiologie, Ophthalmologie und Endoskopie.
Ein besonderer Schwerpunkt ist Smart Endoscopy, bei der insbesondere für die Gastroenterologie, aber auch für die minimal-invasive Chirurgie Software der Künstlichen Intelligenz entwickelt wird, die die Diagnose- und/oder Operationsqualität verbessert. Darüber hinaus beschäftigt sich das ReMIC mit 3D-Oberflächen medizinischer Objekte und ihrer Nutzung für die klinische Praxis. So wurde im ReMIC mit dem Regensburg Breast Shape Modelein 3D-Modell der weiblichen Brust entwickelt.
